Based in Gozo, de Valier Group seeks to recruit a Financial Controller on a full-time indefinite basis. The prospective candidate shall provide financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for various trading entities of the Group.

Duties:

Producing monthly management accounts and annual financial accounts.

Preparing financial documents, including budgets, balance sheets, and reports.

Reconciling and updating general ledger entries.

Reconciling monthly balance sheets.

Identifying potential discrepancies, and reconciling them by collecting and analysing data.

Liaise with other members of the Executive Team in creating budgets and financial plans as needed.

Assisting in strengthening relationships with financial institutions.

Managing the entity’s payroll system.

Maintain statutory financial records updated.

Supporting external audits by providing proper documentation and assistance as needed.

Apply for EU and/or national funds and keep the EU Commission and/or national authorities and stakeholders constantly informed about the project developments.

Review, implement and develop new accounting processes as required to ensure the smooth-running of the finance function.

Qualifications:

Possess or in the final stages of completing an ACCA qualification or equivalent.

2 to 3 years’ experience in a semi-senior or managerial role would be preferred but not necessary.

Have strong organisational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.

Have a strong command of Microsoft Office applications.

Be self-motivated and proactive.

Possess strong, written, and verbal communication skills in Maltese and English.

Possess a clean police conduct.
